Dear all,
Professor Daniel Reidpath will be delivering his inaugural lecture on Thursday 22 March from 5.00-7.30pm in the Newton Room, Hamilton Centre.
Light refreshments will be served after the lecture.
Daniel's topic will be "Population Health - Why I don't care and Why Governments should care even less"
When governments engage in discussions about public health they almost inevitably present this in terms of health care. Public health equals public health care. This completely misconstrues the problem. The greatest gains in health have not been achieved through the delivery of better health care but through the delivery of broader structural changes. If governments cared about the health of their populations more, they would care less and attend more to those public health factors that will bring about the greatest health benefits.
If you would like to attend the lecture, please see the attached and contact the Events Team ([log in to unmask]) to confirm your attendance.
Thanking you,
Ella
