Fixed-term contract for 12 months
Your primary role will be to provide statistical support to the very large and dynamic clinical orthopaedic department based at the teaching hospital at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (www.warwick.ac.uk/go/ortho). You will participate in the planning; design; funding; organisation; analysis; and dissemination of innovative, multi-centre clinical trials of surgical interventions. You will have a real interest in the challenges of surgical effectiveness research; clinical trial design; and innovative clinical research methodology and will develop and pursue a relevant programme of methodological statistics research.
You should possess a higher degree in statistics including medical, applied or social statistics. You will have academic expertise in statistical aspects of research to complement or strengthen the existing interests within the orthopaedic research group. A background in medical statistics or epidemiology would be advantageous. This is primarily a research post, but there will be opportunities for teaching and assisting in the supervision of MD and PhD and other academic students.
