Dear List,
I have a course to give on Records and Information Management/Managing
Information. It is longer that I am accustomed to giving, and instead of
being a basic instructional session, needs to take managers into a little
more depth about records management and its relationship to FOI/DPA/EIR.
I understand what content i would like to deliver, which is fairly standard
and what most of you would expect. But I was born lacking the creative
gene, and so group exercises/icebreakers/brainstorming sessions, etc etc,
are not my strong point. Has anyone developed short exercises for groups or
individuals as part of a similar exercise? Especially ones which help us to
make records and information management 'fun'? Basic or complex content, no
matter.
I'm also appealing for the best and worst of your RM case studies. I know
we have various posts to the list and various sources for these, but I'd
like to know what people use as their favourite examples. The worst
consequences of bad RM practices, and the organisations who have made the
greatest efficiencies. (If these include UK local authorities then even
better).
I will post a summary of the best and worst to the list, unless anyone asks
otherwise. If anyone gets back to me with clever training ideas i will
respect their wishes regarding posting these back to the list.
Thank you very much and kind regards,
Aidan
