in February 1959 of The Big Bopper, Richie Valens, and Buddy Holly, all
of whom took the same private plane out of Clear Lake, Iowa. McLean
refers to them as the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Indeed, Wikipedia's
entry on Valens refers to his death by calling it "The Day the Music Died."
