Community of Practice
Evidence Base (www.ebase.uce.ac.uk) at the University of Central England is
setting up a Research Community of Practice for anyone interested in
research into libraries and information services for children and young
people.
What is a research community of practice?
A Community of Practice is a way for anyone with a common interest to:
Solve problems
Share experiences and ideas
Share good practice and approaches which have worked
Discuss research and new innovations
What does the community of practice offer?
A quarterly newsletter about research and related news about libraries and
information services for children and young people
Regular briefing papers on current policy issues of interest
An online community and resource area
Enquiry service
15% reduction on all evidence base training and events (see
www.ebase.uce.ac.uk/events)
20% reduction on evidence base consultancy rates
How much does it cost?
The cost of joining is £40 per year for individual school
libraries/librarians and £90 for school library services, public libraries,
college libraries or other information services (membership covers all staff
working in the school/college library, SLS or childrens section of the
public library/information service).
The community of practice will be fully launched from June 2007, but you can
register now to qualify for discounts on events and consultancy (you will
not be charged until June and your annual subscription will run from this
date).
