King’s College London is a major multi-faculty institution with over 19,000
students. The Archives and Corporate Records Service (ACRS) holds records of
the College, related institutions, staff and students from 1828; in addition
the private papers of over 700 senior UK defence personnel are held by the
College’s Liddell Hart Centre for Military Archives.
We have an immediate vacancy to manage the implementation of DS CALM. This
is a specialist archival management software system that integrates all core
archive processes from repository management to cataloguing.
DS CALM is a Windows based application. It runs client/server as a Windows
Service on a Windows NT/2000 server. The software that CALM is built on,
DScribe, is a proprietary relational database system. DServe, the web
browser based public access option, is an http web server module.
We are looking for candidates with demonstrable experience of project
management, including a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
You must have excellent IT skills with practical experience of developing
and implementing databases. A sound understanding of web technologies is
also required.
