Due to continuing hardware issues affecting the GOC machine hosting
GOCDB2, we have decided to disable the GOCDB2 interface. This is to
ensure the integrity of the database. We are working to resolve this
issue.
Whilst we are doing this the database at goc.grid-support.ac.uk may
become unavailable as the machine is rebooted - we apologise for any
inconvenience this might cause.
We intend to transfer the GOCDB2 schema and user interface to a new
machine originally intended for GOCDB3 deployment whilst we attempt to
fix the original machine. Should it prove impossible to fix we will
place a DNS redirect for the hostname ''goc.grid-support.ac.uk'' to the
new machine. This will bring the GOCDB2 service back online, however
will also result in the other services we run (accounting, monitoring
views, GOC website) being unavailable.
The GOCDB2 interface will be disabled at 10:30 GMT today (22/03/07)
Regards,
GOC Development Team
