We at Leeds have been making use of the Gateway for the majority of our
Athens traffic since August last year and it has largely been a success.
Use of the Gateway is hovering at about 80% of its potential level at
the moment (Classic Athens making up the other 20%) but we're engaged in
user education and are gradually expiring some older less-used Classic
Athens accounts now so we are hoping that will rise further.
Just like Warwick we have experienced occasional Gateway instability but
the service has been well received and has saved us a huge amount of
time in terms of support. Perhaps the most frustrating thing is the fact
that certain of our key resources are still not Gateway-compliant
(Westlaw is the biggest example here).

Subject: Anyone using Shibboleth for real?
Is anyone out there actually using Shibboleth as an Athens replacement,
either for all their users or at least for some group(s)? If so, how
have
you found it?
Jon.
p.s. Sorry, it seems to be my day for asking questions - I'll try to
shut
up for a while.
