Today I picked up a pile of Ed Dorn Fulcrum editions, and what beautiful
books they are - these slim hardbacks with the dustcovers, in particular The
North Atlantic Turbine.
How did Stuart and Deirdre Montgomery fund Fulcrum editions? - double
hardback and paperback runs. Was it a commercial enterprise or did the press
have some form of patronage?
This is pure fetishism, but I really respond to hardback books - for
example, I'm sure it made a big difference to how I read the last three
Barbara Guest collections from Wesleyan. Now who publishes hardbacks like
this in the UK? (I mean of innovative-whatever work) - Five Seasons... ?
