Dear all,
A query about student account creation and enrollment...
At the moment accounts are created by manually exporting the data from
Student Records (UNIT-e system) into a csv file then uploading this to
Blackboard. Account updates (late enrollments/withdrawn/change of
course) will, as of next academic year, be dealt with by scheduling
reports from UNIT-e and again manually uploading them into Blackboard as
csv files on a regular basis. Enrolling students is done manually in a
similar way.
This is obviously quite a time consuming administrative task and we are
investigating other, more dynamic ways of linking Blackboard to our
Student Records system. I wondered how the admin task of account
creation / enrollment was dealt with in other institutions? What
software / hardware is required? What staff time / skills are required?
Any problems / recommendations?
We are currently running Blackboard Learning System - Basic Edition
7.1.391.0 (although we hope to upgrade to v7.2 in the summer).
Thanks in advance,
Jen
