GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) currently has an opportunity for a Statistician to work at their site in Ware - Hertfordshire, Southeast England.

The Ware site is a key New Product Introduction site with an increasing focus on new chemical entities and new technologies.
Job Details:
We currently have an opportunity to join our site wide Statistics Team at our New Product and Global Supply site, Ware, Hertfordshire. The purpose of this role is to work within cross-functional teams, applying appropriate statistical techniques to the collection, analysis and interpretation of data to enable internal customers to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing statistical expertise and troubleshooting support to cross-functional, manufacturing and technical teams.
* Providing statistical expertise to embrace new technologies, such as, Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and implementing knowledge into current working processes.
* Presenting the data to meet customer specific needs and focus, such as, quality, line performance improvement, cost reduction.
* Designing experiments, analysing and reporting data to customer requirements effectively and within a timely manner.
* Ensuring customers are technically supported to achieve their project objectives.
* Reporting statistical analysis in an appropriate manner to meet customer needs.
* Contributing to verification processes by evaluating statistical analysis.
* Supporting the site by providing statistical support in its reporting obligation to regulatory agencies.
* Provide a consulting service for customer projects.
* Developing and maintaining technical knowledge base to ensure success in this role and professional development.
* Providing coaching and guidance on interpretation of data through the use of departmental systems and tools.
* Communicating statistical information and data effectively to non-statisticians.
* Ensuring current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Quality Management Systems (QMS) and departmental guidelines are up held throughout working practice.
Basic Qualifications
Essential Knowledge and Qualifications:
* A statistics related degree (or equivalent), including subjects such as GLM and statistical inferences.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Self motivated.
Preferred Qualifications
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Experience in applying statistical tools and techniques in a manufacturing environment, e.g. DoE, SPC, GLM and process capability.
* Experience of working in teams.
* Experience in using the following software: SAS, SIMCA-P, Statistica, DX7.
