Hi Jen,
In the German publication on the bones from Schleswig is a bit on
donkey/horse distinction based on metacarpi and 1st phalanges. If you let me
know your address, I can send you a copy.
Best wishes, Jessica

Subject: [ZOOARCH] Donkeys
Hi,
I have a numer of small and slender equid metapodials. I am wondering if
these could be donkey, but I have nothing to compare them with except quite
a large horse.
Is there any kind of metrics I can used to try and distigush further?
I have had a few small teeth from another context, but looking at the folds
of
the teeth has been quite inconclusive.
I would be greatful for any help, as I am a long way from a library.
Thanks
Jen Kitch
