Delegate booking opens for CILIP's biggest-ever Umbrella conference 

Delegate booking has now opened for CILIP's Umbrella 2007 event, which promises to be the biggest and best ever. The Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals will attract up to 1,000 delegates to its major bi-annual conference and exhibition, which will be held on 28-30 June at The University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield. 

Everything about the event has been improved in 2007 to deliver an unmatched experience for CILIP's 22,000 members. Delegates from across the library community will gather for three days of discussion in three plenary sessions and 56 specialist presentations in nine distinct streams. 

This year's theme is Catalysts for Change - making a difference. The programme has been developed by Director of Studies Paul Pedley, Head of Research at the Economist Intelligence Unit, with the support of 24 CILIP Special Interest Groups. Almost 100 speakers have been secured for the programme. 

Supporting the conference will be the Umbrella Exhibition with up to 50 stands, plus a range of social events including the second Umbrella Awards Dinner. Overall event sponsor is Tribal, with further support from Innovative Interfaces, EBSCO Information Services, Swets, and MultiScreen Channel.   

Umbrella's new venue on the DeHavilland Campus at the University of Hertfordshire is just three years old and has more than 1,600 bedrooms on site with ensuite facilities. As it is anticipated Umbrella 2007 will attract up to 1,000 delegates early booking is strongly advised.
