Hello,
My name is Gerald Smith and I am a graduate student conducting research
on geographic-information requirements for all people impacted by any
type of disaster. A disaster is an event that may cause injuries,
fatalities, and damage to infrastructure, property, and/or the
environment. The magnitude of a disaster event is greater than routine
emergencies and often overwhelms local agencies. Disasters may be caused
by hurricanes, tsunamis, wildfires, famine, pollution, infectious
diseases, transportation accidents, terrorism, etc.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance. If you have experienced a
disaster, or were associated with a community evacuation, and/or other
disaster-response efforts (activities occurring approximately 72 hours
after the disaster strikes), please spare a few minutes to complete a
short survey regarding your experience. The survey is safe, secure, and
anonymous as no contact information is required. Please open the survey by

Thank you for your consideration and time!
Sincerely,
Gerald Smith
