ALISS Visit to
Goldsmiths Library and archives 20th March 2007, 3.30pm.
ALISS (Association of Librarians and Information professionals in the Social Sciences). are pleased to announce an opportunity to visit behind the scenes at the Library of the Goldsmiths Company (Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths) one of the Twelve Great Livery Companies of the City of London which received its first royal charter in 1327. The library contains over 7,500 printed books, journals and other materials on the subjects of silver, jewellery, assaying and hallmarking, regalia. It also holds the archives of the company.
The visit will incorporate a tour of the library and exhibition area and opportunity to view selected items from collections
