Learn more about copyright and licensing as it applies to the academic library at this half-day course. The session will cover the main issues, including copyright exceptions, library privilege, copyright declaration forms, posting content to a virtual learning environment and the range of licences available for the FE and HE sectors.

Participants will gain a good understanding of the main copyright concerns for those working in the academic sector and get tips and guidance for staying within the law.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Those providing library and information services for further and higher education institutions and who need to be aware of how to comply with copyright law.
The course is aimed at those who already have a basic understanding of current copyright law.
COURSE LEADER: PAUL PEDLEY
Paul is Head of Research at the Economist Intelligence Unit. He is a member of the Libraries and Archives Copyright Alliance, and a Visiting Professor at London Metropolitan University. Paul has written a number of books published by Facet Publishing.
