BUFVC's online ordering system for off-air recordings of television - now
active
The BUFVC has launched its much anticipated online ordering system for
off-air recordings of UK television programmes - delivering copies on DVD,
VHS or burned as QuickTime or MediaPlayer encodings to CD. The ordering
system is embedded as a function of the TRILT database (www.trilt.ac.uk) and
it enables users to send requests for programmes to BUFVC via their
institution's appointed BUFVC representative responsible for off-air
recordings. Users are able to see, at a glance in a personal account,
information on the programmes they have already requested. They are also
able to track orders on the system. This service is available only to staff
in BUFVC member institutions which are licensed by the Educational Recording
Agency (www.era.org.uk). For further information, visit
http://www.bufvc.ac.uk/services/offair.html.

digitise and deliver academic access to what is UK's largest commercial
radio news collection. The BUFVC is currently managing the ingest of data
for Newsfilm Online, one of the six projects from the first phase of the
Digitisation Programme. For further information, visit
