Extension of the contract, conversion to permanency or transfer to another
part of the civil service is possible although there is no guarantee.
We are looking for a Renewable Energy Development Manager to develop
central expertise to further exploit the Renewable Energy (RE) potential
of the Forestry Commission estate.
You will have sound knowledge and expertise in scoping, planning and
implementation of RE projects (particularly small-scale hydropower) in the
UK. It is essential that you possess a firm grasp of the financial
appraisal of potential RE projects as well as proven experience of drawing
up business plans and budgets combined with a clear understanding of the
commercial and regulatory environment. You will be experienced in project
management from concept to commissioning. A strong IT competency,
including a sound knowledge of GIS systems is also required.
