Dear colleagues,
May I draw your attention to the following Call for Papers?
MHRA Working Papers in the Humanities
The MHRA Working Papers in the Humanities
(http://www.mhra.org.uk/ojs/index.php/wph) is an electronic publication
forum intended to allow researchers to present initial findings or
hypotheses such as might, at a more advanced stage, become eligible for
publication in established scholarly journals.
CALL FOR PAPERS:
Contributions are now invited for the 2007 issue.
A special, themed section of the journal will be dedicated to ‘Identity
Formation’, but other topics are welcome as well.
The second issue of the Working Papers will be published in November 2007,
and the editorial panel aims to choose half of the papers from submissions
that relate to the theme of ‘Identity Formation’. Authors might consider,
among other things:
- the role of philosophy, theology, sociology and/or ideology in the
formation of identity
- national, linguistic, diasporic and transcultural identities, hybridity,
otherness, citizenship and the effects of migration on identities
- gender and sexual identity
- youth and age
- narrative identity, i.e. identity as a result of narrative language,
plot structure, spatial relationships, characterisation and
multimodal/transmedial representation
Papers may come from any field in the 'modern humanities', which includes
the modern and medieval languages, literatures (including film and new
media), and cultures of Europe (including English and the Slavonic
languages, and the cultures of the European diaspora). History, library
studies, education and pedagogical subjects, and the medical application
of linguistics are excluded.
THE SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS 1ST MAY 2007.
In order to submit a paper, you first need to register with the journal at
http://www.mhra.org.uk/ojs/index.php/wph/user/register. You can register
as an author and/or peer reviewer. Submission works either through the
journal website or via email to the editors (see below).
