Hi Steve,
I'm playing with a general surface smoothing function, which is using
the update components u1 and u2 in your BET paper (no MRI intensity
constraint, in this case). As the method changes the surface shape, I
need to get new surface curvature values. Before I try to reinvent the
wheel, I thought a lazy question here would be a good first step. This
is probably an easy problem to solve for the engineers out there - can
you point me to a reasonable curvature value that is easily derived from
the BET routine? I'm wondering whether the radius-of-curvature is a
useful value, but I really need both +ve and -ve curvature. The sign of
the curvature must be correlated with the _outward_ surface normal.
Should I take a different approach? Maybe a Laplacian method?
