Subject: International Symposium on Geotechnical Engineering, Ground
Improvement and Geosynthetics for Human Security and Environmental
Preservation
Dear Participant,
As a follow up to the previous International Symposium on
Tsunami Reconstruction with Geosynthetics held last December 2005, an
International Symposium on Geotechnical Engineering, Ground Improvement and
Geosynthetics for Human Security and Environmental Preservation will be
organized by Southeast Asian Geotechnical Society (SEAGS), International
Geosynthetic Society Thailand (IGS-Thailand) and Asian Center for Soil
Improvement and Geosynthetic (ACSIG) on 6 to 7 December 2007. This event
will be held at Venus Room, Miracle Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok,
Thailand.
This International Symposium is supported by the International
Geosynthetics Society (IGS) and the Technical Committee of the International
Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, TC4 and TC39.
This Symposium will serve as a forum for the geotechnical
profession as a whole, and, in particular those who are involved in disaster
prevention, mitigation, rehabilitation, and construction works for human
security. In addition, this Symposium will encourage research activities as
well as promote environmental preservation. Enclosed please find a copy of
the brochure.
Several well-known personalities, academics and researchers have
already expressed their availability to deliver Keynote, Invited and Special

In these regards and on behalf of SEAGS, IGS and ACSIG, I would
like to invite you to participate in the aforementioned International
Symposium. Moreover, I would appreciate very much if you could disseminate
this information to your friends and colleagues and encourage them to
attend.
Sincerely yours,
Prof. Dennes T.
