A two day course "Advanced Stata" will take place at the Department of
Social Medicine, University of Bristol from 14th-15th June 2007.

Who the course is intended for: It is assumed that participants will have
attended the Introduction to Stata course or be familiar with the contents
of this course AND have used Stata for at least 6 months. It is also
assumed that participants will have a working knowledge of basic statistics
such as linear regression. However, the course is not focussed on
statistical content, but on data management and programming skills.
Course outline:
Advanced functions and expressions using egen;
How to reshape and create data sets;
Using system variables and accessing saved results;
Different looping structures;
Introduction to programming;
Organising and documenting work;
Graphing data.
Teaching will make up a total of twelve hours, consisting of tutorials and
practical sessions
Course fee: £300.
