Science, the Media and that Whale
Thursday 25th January
Doors at 7pm (for a 7.15 start)
Once upon a time a whale swam up the Thames and became a media star. How
much of what you read of the story did you believe? And who is responsible
for what gets reported and why - scientists, journalists or the public?
Join us for a media-focused debate about the Thames whale, where you can
have a go at writing for a national paper. We bring together science and
the media to highlight the trials and tribulations of reporting natural
history news and discuss the controversies behind the headlines.
This event will take place in the Darwin Centre, entrance via Queensgate.
It is free of charge but booking is essential. Please call 020 7942 5555.
Thanks, Ivvet.
