Subject: Re: Poifection
a poem is perfect when someone reads it, thinks about it, sees it, &
feels
that it's perfect. this means that a poem can sometimes be perfect, &
sometimes not (what makes things even more difficult is that sometimes
the
perfection is a result of imperfection; or, always). William Carlos
Williams' poetry is often perfect to me, but not if I've already had my
fill
of him for one sitting. then again, Bukowski's poetry is never perfect
to
me, & yet that's exactly the way I want it (does that make it
perfect??).
"perfect" is a term that's even weaker than "good".
