Subject: Re: HERA Job Evaluation Process
Our sympathies Greg.
This does not bode well for us at Thames Valley University. We've been
hanging onto HERA as a hope for some kind of parity between librarians
in different parts of our service.
Three years ago, Reading College was taken over by TVU and the Learning
Resources services were merged. Our pay levels were lower than theirs
and we now work alongside librarians and assistants at the old TVU sites
who earn significantly more than us for the same work, and our HR people
have made no efforts to bring about parity - their latest excuse being
that our current HERA process will bring us up to their pay levels.
Unfortunately your experience suggests that the other librarians might
be brought down to ours!
