Forthcoming event for Law Librarians: Friday 16 February 2007, St William's College, York
Creating an impact: enhancing teaching to large groups
16 February 2007
Law librarians are frequently called upon to teach to large groups of students. The main aim of this event is to look at ways in which large groups can be managed in a way that enhances both the teaching and learning experience. In addition there will be a session on overcoming the perils of speaking in public. The day will conclude with a briefing on the OSCOLA training materials and a roundup of developments in e-learning technologies.
Target audience:
Law librarians or librarians seeking to enhance skills in both presenting to and managing large groups of students. There will also be a session looking at what's new in e-learning. Much of the day's content could equally be applied to any situation where librarians may find themselves teaching or presenting i.e. to trainees. Although the e-learning briefing at the end will relate to the academic sector it may still be of interest to law librarians interested in seeing the approach being taken in law schools, universities and colleges.
Fees:
Non-BIALL members: £150.00
BIALL members: £120.00
