Atkins (formerly WS Atkins) is one of the largest and most successful
multi-disciplined consultancies in Europe with offices in over 40
countries worldwide. Atkins Geospatial is a leading independent supplier
of Geographic Information Services and Solutions.
The successful candidate will join our successful Geospatial solutions
team in the Bristol office. The role is to replace a member of staff who
has recently been seconded to work in our Houston office.
Responsibilities of the job will focus primarily on the design and
development of .NET-based web applications, using VB.NET 2.0 and
ASP.NET 2.0 technology. Whilst the ideal candidate would be someone with

SOAP web services, AJAX (XML and Javascript), SQL Server 2005 and Oracle
10g. The GIS technologies used focus on ESRI server products up to and

undertaken within an AGILE framework. Candidates should therefore expect
to be interacting directly with clients on a frequent basis. There will
be career rewards for those able to leverage this exposure to maintain
good relationships with clients and bring in new business.
The successful candidate will enjoy the benefits of working for one of
the UK's leading specialist GIS teams, on projects for blue-chip
corporate clients. There will be extensive opportunities for
international travel as many of the projects are for clients outside the
