Back in November UKOLN organised a one-day workshop on "Exploiting The
Potential Of Wikis". The feedback for the event was very positive - see
http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/events/workshops/wiki-workshop-2006/evaluat
ion/
UKOLN is now thinking about organising a similar one day workshop, with the
draft title "Exploiting The Potential Of Blogs". This would be aimed at
institutions which may be thinking about providing an institutional blogging
service (unlike some of the other blogging workshops I've seen advertised,
which tend to focus on the individual blogger or use of blogs in teaching
and learning, this event will aim to address the institutional challenges -
so participants don't need to be bloggers and personally interested in
blogging to benefit from the workshop). The event would look at the various
ways in which blogs can be used, the challenges and issues which need to be
addressed and ways of addressing the challenges.
In order to establish demand for such a workshop, and to get suggestions for
topics which should be addressed, I have set up a survey on the
website-info-mgt page on the JISCMail Web site. I think an automated
message will be sent when the survey goes live.
If anyone would be interested in speaking at the workshop (if we decide to
go ahead with it) or can suggest good speakers, feel free to email me.
Thanks
Brian
Note
1 I've decided to use "blog" rather than "Blog" - see
