That saspirilla piece was pretty damned good.
I fear, though, The Times ain't the Thunderer or the paper of record
as was. Curiously, the Sunday Times also has a half-decent books
section. A lot of the time though the op-ed pieces are in the same
choir as McCauley, but with rather politer language. In my view, The
London Times is the fig-leaf for the Digger's political ambitions both
in the UK and in the US. I also think it runs interference for his
ambitions in the US (see todays hack-job on Clinton for instance).
But, it's not as bad as the Daily Lia^H^H^HMail, or the Gauleiter
Gazette as the Guardian once called it.
