medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
If I may digress somewhat from things medieval... This church, heavily
damaged by flooding in Katrina, used to be my parish church. When it became
obvious that this building, originally scheduled to be a temporary church
(churchasium, churchateria), would be the permanent church, suggestions were
solicited concerning the stained glass windows to be put in place. I
suggested copies of scenes from the Bayeux tapestry and "won." Unfortunately
whoever executed the templates for the windows had no idea whatsoever what
the tapestry looked like and the windows are as ugly as the rest of the
building.
