REPOSITIONING YOUR NHS LIBRARY SERVICE
28 February & 28 March 2007, London
NHS budgets are severely constrained and this situation is well reported in the national press. Against this background, most organisations will endeavour to find economies. With the National Service Framework at an advanced stage, and the National Library for Health a key provider, local medical library services will need to establish their local value more than ever before. This two-day course will help participants to substantiate the need for finance in such a challenging time.
BENEFITS OF ATTENDING
The day will explore the following elements:
· developing a situation analysis of services provided to certain groups of customers
· costing up minimum quality thresholds and justifying those in terms of minimum investment required to support them
· the Clinical Librarian adding value to frontline medical services
· finding evidence to support and itemise benefits
· choices in service delivery range aimed at high-value local impact
· developing a business case for your local library situation
The course will be staged as two separate days, one month apart, in order to facilitate opportunities for participants to work up real scenarios from their workplace environment.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Those working the NHS library and information services with responsibility for setting and handling the budget.
COURSE LEADER: LARRAINE COOPER
Having had a substantial career in banking which included developing training in both managerial and financial skills, Larraine set up her own consultancy in 1986.
