Lesha,
Both machines are supplied by 2CQR and run using barcodes which are
inside the book. 2CQR have a simple design solution made of plastic
which keeps the book open when returning. Automated returns accounts for
60% of returns at one of our main sites, with self issue coming in at
around 50%.

Hi Leo
Patron-sorting of returns definitely seems problematic (holds problems
mostly resulting in people coming in to collect books which weren't
there, having been hidden by the returner instead of being put in the
correct bin!) so I'm very interested in the alternatives.
What machines do you use for your self-issue (3M or another make?)
And what machine does your automated sorting of self-returns? (3M or
another make?)Is it RFID or barcode? If barcode, did you have to
barcode
books on the outside?
Thanks!
Lesha
