Ladies and Gentlemen,
this is to inform you about three issues.
(1) The 7th Annual Conference of the European Society of Criminology
(ESC) will take place in Bologna, Italy, the mother town of one of the
very oldest universities in the World, and actually of the oldest
European University, founded in the year 1088.
The Conference is being scheduled for September 26-29, 2007. The General
Theme is: Crime, Crime Prevention and Communities in Europe.
English will be the standard working language. However, along the
guidelines of the ESC, contributions in any other of the European
languages will be accepted, in particular if scholars and/or
practitioners and/or policy makers from different States or Regions are
aiming to convene in a relevant workshop or roundtable.
If you are interested in that 7th ESC-Conference, please turn your
browser to the following URL: http://www.eurocrim2007.org/
(2) The Hungarian National Institute of Criminology, founded in 1960,
and the largest criminological research institute in Central and Eastern
Europe, has been launching a new website. The Hungarian version is
already very elaborate. The English version is still under construction
in certain parts.
However, it already contains a lot of interesting information for those
interested in comparative studies or interested in general in
criminological issues of the Region: http://en.okri.hu/
(3) Our Tuebingen Institute of Criminology received many replies to our
last offer in Winter 2006 regarding the inclusion of new Websites/URLs
into our internationally oriented LinkList on Criminology, Criminal
Justice, Corrections etc. Many thanks to all of you helping us to
correct faults and to re-set dead links, and also to all of you who
suggested amendements.
We therefore overhauled again this LinkList, and we do hope to have made
a further step towards the idea of a "comprehensive international
criminology linklist".
If you would like to inspect the new version, with all headers in German
a n d English, or if you would even like to go "on tour", please turn
to: http://www.ifk.jura.uni-tuebingen.de/www.html
[Note: As always, corrections and suggestions for addenda are highly
welcome]
With best regards,
Hans-J. Kerner
