3.1 New UK Voice Advisory Service from UKERNA
The service will offer wide ranging and vendor-independent advice on all
aspects relating to the technologies and implementation of Voice over IP
(VoIP) and IP Telephony. The advisory service is free of charge for 
JANET customers. The VAS will also support the JANET voice collaboration

6. Invitations to tender

6.1 Becta invites tenders for the production of its TechNews service.
TechNews is a technology, news and analysis service aimed at those in 
the education sector keen to stay informed about technology 
developments, trends and issues. The contract will run from March 2007 
to the end March 2008 (6 issues). Pre-qualification questionnaires can 
be obtained via email from: [log in to unmask] - to be completed 
and returned by 15 January 2007, 5:00pm. Following evaluation of 
questionnaires received, Becta will issue a copy of the invitation to 
tender to selected parties by 17 January with submission of tenders on 1 
February 2007.

6.2 JISC ITT: Survey on the use of different forms of scholarly output
...invites proposals to undertake a survey on the use by researchers and
teachers of different forms of scholarly output. Funding of £15,000 is
available for this work (including VAT and related travel and
subsistence). The survey is expected to take 3 months to complete. The
successful bidder should expect to commence work by 5 March 2007 at the
latest and complete work by 4 June 2007. Deadline for submission: 7
February 2007, 13:00.
