TITLE: Statistical design of studies of association between genetic markers
and disease
Available from 1 October 2007
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for funding under a BBSRC
doctoral training grant scheme to undertake research in the development of
new and innovative design and analysis strategies for multistage genome-wide
association studies that include covariates and other environmental
determinants. Applicants should have a good Bachelors or Masters degree in
Statistics or in a mathematical subject with substantial statistics content
and some experience in one of the following areas; statistical genetics,
genetic epidemiology, medical statistics, biostatistics, sequential
methodology, epidemiology. If successful, the applicant will be based within
the Section of Applied Statistics and will be jointly supervised by Dr Fazil
Baksh and Dr Sue Todd.
