We noted that there had been changes/amalgamation
of the forms etc. when reviewing information for
2006-07 on the DFES website just before Christmas.
I rang our local LEA (Sheffield) in the New Year
and asked them if they would be happy to continue
to receive separate notification of change of
circs forms as long as any required new
information fields were included on them. They
said that would be acceptable (needless to say
they could only speak for themselves and not all
LEAs across the country). We have accordingly
updated our separate notification forms and have
been sending these out in the last couple of weeks
to all LEAs that we need to inform. I am not aware
that any of the LEAs have come back to us to date
and said this is not acceptable.
With regards to sending LEAs corrected information
arising from the ACR file, I set up two new LEA
notification form templates (one for Course, one
for Year of Study) along the lines of our current
format for these types of forms and these have
been sent out in the last couple of weeks to
relevant LEAs. Again I am not aware that we have
had any feedback from LEAs that this has not been
acceptable.

We have just been informed by our LEA, that a new
five page Change of
Circumstance form has been developed, and should
now be used for any
change in information for a student. These
changes include the previously
used, withdrawal, suspension, but also now include
any changes in relation
to the ACR file. Depending on the code issued for
each student on the
ACR, this form will now need to be completed and
returned to the LEA.
How many HEI's or LEA have been made aware of
this, and by what means?
