Dear all,
I would be really interested to know about your university's approach to the
following issues.
1. Does your university have chaplaincies operating on campus or have you
separated the welfaure role from chaplaincy role and signpost students who
need a faith input to external chaplancies, imams etc.
2. Do you have a code of practice or guidance on how you expect them to
operate on campus?
3. How do you ensure they comply with relevant legislation i.e. Children's
Act (under 18's); etc
4. Do you work constructively with them to pass on 'general' information
that may be useful to the university in terms of meeting the general duties
and preventing extremist activities on campus?.
5. Do you think its necessary to have religious leaders operating on campus,
or is this giving them preferential treatment, to other groups.
6. Do you involve them in your training activities around diversity issues?
Apologies for the many questions but these are issues we are
discussing/grapling with and I would really appreciate your views.
As ever, many thanks for you help
