Dear fellow listees,
The Minute Book of the Snailbeach Lead Mining Co says that the price of
coal had increased so much at this time that it was impossible to make a
profit on smelting.
Does anyone know the reason or reasons why the price had risen
significantly at that time? Strike action or something political?
The SLMCo bought their coal from such as Wrexham & Acton pits and others in
the area.
Will be interested to have any information on this - Merry Xmas to all.
