Hiya,
Am trying to find out something about the history / origins of the UK
Independent living fund. Can anyone recommend any references / literature
about the development and distribution of this fund. How did the fund
emerge? What legislation, activism, research & policy work contributed to
it?
Also, am interested in finding out about the extension fund and why this is
paid at a higher rate, A leaflet from the ILF website states,‘…If you are a
user of the 1993 Fund (you will be a user of this Fund you applied after 1
April 1993), then the maximum payment you can receive is £420 per week. If
you are a user of the Extension Fund (you will be a user of this Fund if you
started to get payments from the Fund before 1 April 1993), then the maximum
payment you can receive is £715 per week…..’
http://www.ilf.org.uk/making_an_application/information_leaflets/index.html
Also, with the advent of individualised budgets, etc, will this fund be
subject to change etc.
Any comments will be gratefully received…
Many thanks - stephen
