Subject: Publication of Gowers Review of Intellectual Property Report
Importance: High
Dear Sir or Madam
The Final Report of the Gowers Review of Intellectual Property is now
published and is available on the Review website:
http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/gowers/ The Government's response is
contained in the Pre-Budget Report 2006.
In December 2005, the Chancellor of the Exchequer asked Andrew Gowers to
conduct an independent review to examine the UK Intellectual Property
Framework.
As part of our commitment to consult widely with interested parties, the
review's formal call for evidence was published on 23 February 2006. This
set out the scope of the Review and asked respondents to comment on a range
of general and specific intellectual property issues, and to highlight other
issues for the Review to consider. The call for evidence closed on 21 April
2006 and the Review is very grateful for all those who took the time and
effort to submit a response.
The submissions to the Review, except where those submitting have indicted
otherwise, are also published on the Review website, along with two reports
commissioned for the Gowers Review.
Best
Steve
