Dear all,
I am a new member to this list and I am writing to you all to introduce myself.
I am a first year PhD student working with Dr. Sam Hickey and Dr. Sara MacKian
in the School for Environment and Development at Manchester University, United
Kingdom. The key area of my research is post-conflict reconciliation and I will
be conducting fieldwork in Bosnia-Herzegovina with displaced peoples and
returnees as well as in the UK with the Bosnian diaspora. I am primarily
interested in what narratives of forced migration, home and community might
tell us about the processes of relationship-building for the purpose of
developing more rigorous theoretical perspectives and for designing more
effective interventions. I will be using a citizenship analysis framework and I
am thus also interesed in the issues of status, rights and justice.
I would be very interested to hear from other researcher working on any of
these themes or in any of these places and look forward to exchanging
information and news with you all via this list.
Many thanks,
Briony Smith
