A World Tonight special programme to be broadcast on BBC
Radio 4 , December 29th, 2006 at 22.00
As Bulgaria and Romania bring the European Union's member nations to a
total of 27 , Robin Lustig chairs a debate at the European
Parliament:
" Is it time for Europe to stop enlarging? ".
MEPs from old and new member countries, from opposite ends
of the political spectrum debate the biggest issue facing
Europe in a Westminster-style debate recorded at the December
Strasbourg session.
UK Members taking part are Nigel Farage, Timothy Kirkhope and
Eluned Morgan. They are joined by Alexander Stubb (Finland),
Pervenche Beres (France), Markus Ferber, (Germany) Gyorgy
Schopflin (Hungary) Marios Matsakis (Cyprus), Joost Lagendijk
(Netherlands), & Annemie Neyts-Uyttebroek (Belgium)
The broadcast will also be available online from December 30th at
