Dear All
As research students we are all encouraged to attend conferences. With this
in mind my university have in the past years offered a £500 a year towards
expenses. This is now being cut to £300 for all of 2007. This is a small
amount if we are expected to attend at least two conferences a year an
almost excludes any International conferences. Maybe we are being greedy or
is this a reasonable amount , and does anyone know of any guidelines that
Universities follow in deciding how much post grad students get to attend
conferences?.
Would you mind giving me an indication of the allocation for your
university so we have something to compare with.
Many Thanks
Maxine Newlands
