Dear Sir,
 
I am a research student working on Rice plants under salt stress, and trying to determine the ABA content using the HPLC method of Cowan et al. 1997 (Plant Physiology114, 511-518).
 
When we load ABA standard (mixed isomers) from Sigma, we got 2 peaks with spectral profile (attached) with absorption lambda max at 261 and 263 for the 2 peaks resp. But when we run our sample on HPLC at 254 nm we get three peaks (profile and spectra of each peak is attached). We think that the peak at retention time 17 min which gives a lambda max at 254 is that of ABA, while the peak at retention time 12 at lambda max 243 is of phaseic acid. 
 
I would be grateful to you if could help us in the identification of the ABA peak and also send me any reprints related to my research work.
