Dear Geogs
You're a well-informed bunch so hoping you can shed
some light on something I heard today. Is it true
that the National Trust has changed its policy
recently regarding access to its collections? My
contact tells me that no one (including researchers
and academics) is allowed access to anything that
isn't on display. Curators are not even allowed to
answer queries regarding collections, by all accounts.
I've had a look on the NT website but can't see
anything pertaining to a change of policy. Am keen to
find out more as it scuppers those of us wanting to
examine their costume collections...and its hardly
working in the trustiest interests of the nation, is
it?
Best wishes
Alison
