blogs, RSS news feeds and discussion forums from UK Labour Party
supporters. It includes materials from the web blogs of Labour party
MPs, activists, councillors and trade union representatives. It is a
good starting point for locating discussion about the future leadership
and policy development of the british labour party and socialist
movement. Key topics include the leadership of Tony Blair and labour
party conferences.

Tackling Over-Indebtedness 2006

This is a report from the Department for Trade and Industry's on on
tackling consumer debt in the UK. It is their third report on this
subject, the first one appearing in 2004. It gives an update on the
situation and describes the activities the DTI are undertaking to combat
debt and help consumers, eg The National Debtline and Consumer Credit
Counselling Service. It is available in PDF format.

Declassified key judgments of the National Intelligence estimate 'Trends
in global terrorism' implications for the USA dated April 2006

This site provides access to a four page document released by the US
office of the Director of National Intelligence in September 2006. It
comprises declassified key judgments from the larger, classified
National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) on Trends in Global Terrorism:
Implications for the United States that was produced in April 2006. The
NIE analyzes the nature of the threat that terrorist groups across the
world will pose to American citizens. This document was provoked
controversy by suggesting that the American 'war against terrorism' was
stimulating greater support for Al-Qaeda, religious Jihad and terrorist
attacks by Islamic militants. The paper is in PDF format.

Revolutionary tides: the art of the political poster 1914-1989

posters produced in the period 1914-1989. They are taken from the
holdings of the Hoover Institution and Wolfsonian Florida International
University. The posters consider the changing nature of revolution and
the role of the political poster . Materials are organised by theme.
Topics covered covered include the crowd, mass persuasion and propaganda
and political leadership. Key events covered include: the Chinese
communist party revolution, the fall of the Berlin wall and communism in
Europe. IThere are also materials relating to Russia, Germany (Nazi
propaganda)It is possible to search or browse the site. Copyright
information is displayed. Access to images requires Flash plug ins.

management body of Gambia. Its website provides information on the
electoral system and recent parliamentary and presidential elections. It

onwards.

Publishing Co. Ltd. Hong Kong. It offers English language biographies of

is a searchable database of recent travel and engagements by leading
Chinese figures.

Internet detective.
Internet Detective is a free online tutorial designed to help students
develop the critical thinking required for their Internet research. It
is provided as part of the Intute Virtual Training Suite. The tutorial
offers practical advice on evaluating the quality of websites and
highlights the need for care when selecting online information sources
to inform university or college work. Internet Detective was originally
developed in 1998 with funding from the European Union and was
translated into a number of different languages by national libraries
and research organisations, the new version, launched in June 2006 has
been completely updated and now includes sections on plagiarism and
copyright.
