The difficulty in doing so would be the powers to do so (audit beyond
central government that is), cost notwithstanding

To respond to Kit Good's posting of yesterday, the position remains as
stated on the previous occasion: TNA is undertaking a programme of
audits
in central government, but there are no plans for a concerted audit of
the
wider public sector at present. We have posted a self-assessment
workbook
on our website, and subject to the availability of resources we are
happy
to offer advice to any local authority that wishes to make use of it:

The normal contact for this is our Records Management Advisory Service
([log in to unmask]).
I hope this helps.
