Hello everyone,
Below I include the abstract of the talk by Ue-Li Pen (CITA).
Title:''The rise and fall of Hydrogen''
Abstract: 'The 21cm emission of hydrogen is in principle detectable
throughout the visible universe after recombination. In practice, only
low redshift hydrogen has been found and mapped. We review our
theoretical understanding of the history of neutral hydrogen from
reionization through today, and current efforts to open a new window on
the universe through the 21cm line. If a new generation of low frequency
telescopes succeeds, it will enlarge the mapped redshift volume of the
universe by several ordersw of magnitude, and result in precision
determination of dark energy and cosmological parameters'
The seminar is at 4pm in A1 of the Physics Building at UCL.
Regards,
Angeliki
