Hi,
I think the implications of this discussion are quite numerous:
- how much information has already been lost or is in a grey form?
- how should those organisations working outside the 'normal'
communications network be involved?
- What standards of information and recording are used?
When I was active in archaeology / heritage I recall two events:
- Firstly a well-known roman archaeologist working out of a university
admitting openly that there were sites that he had yet top publish.
- Secondly one academic stating that there was no need to adhere to
national standards becase each project was different.
Hmm.
