Description:
We are looking for an outstanding researcher and teacher of modern German
studies who will be able to contribute to the teaching of German language
and who will make an important contribution to the Department's research
profile. Applicants should have a strong research record in German; any
field of post-1750 German Studies will be considered but preference may be
given to someone able to teach in areas of modern German history, society
and/or media/film studies, and to contribute to School-wide courses in
European culture in translation as well as to the research activities of the
Department's Centre for East German Studies. The successful candidate will
be able to teach the German language to advanced level as well as post-1900
topics, and will be expected to make a full contribution to Departmental and
School administration.
